Dear Fire Folks,

As we move toward spring we see the landscape changing, beautiful flowers and beautiful homes spring up all over Crest. WE are still here to help people who are just getting started. So come in and let us know how we can assist you.

 

Thanks to all who have donated recycled items for folks to use. A special THANK YOU to Dianne Brehm for contributing to our Welcome Home Baskets, and assisting us with RV’s and appliances for our volunteer labor group.

 

 CRWRC ( Christian Reform World Relief Committee) Will be with us for a year working on homes that have been through the CRT unmet needs committee. We hope to introduce you to them at a community wide pot luck on May 14, 2005.

 

The Art Group Join us for some very interesting projects. Get your creativity going! Beads, greeting cards, bracelets, fimo, bring your projects and share them with us. We really have fun! May 11 and 25th

  

SBA meeting scheduled for those having difficulty getting the right information.

May 9, 2005. 6 to 9pm, VFW Hall in Lakeside. Call Justin Tackett at Duncan Hunter’s office to book a meeting to discuss your particular case at 579-3001.

Help with plans and permitting. Have questions? Deena Raver, county liaison for the CRT, will be at the Resource Center on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.

 

Firestorm 2003  CD’s are available for sale at the Resource Center. There are over 400 images that were taken just after the fire.

 

Sandbags are available at Resource Center and Crest Fire Station. Sand is on the corner of Old Mountain View and Mountain View.

 

Crest Rebuild Resource group. Has joined forces with the CCFRG in Lakeside- as they are a much larger group with well developed resources. Meetings are every Thursday at Lindo Lake Community Center 6:30pm Lakeside, contact David Kassel at 619-895-6790

 WATER METERS: “ Please be assured that Padre Dam customers who lost their homes in the 2003 Cedar Fire are exempt from water meter installation fee increases implemented on January 14, 2005, pursuant to Board action taken November 24, 2003 on behalf of the Cedar Fire victims.  Out of 292 structures lost in the 2003 Cedar Fire,

69 have passed final inspection as of April 30th.

Here is the mandate state Public Resources Code that defines the 100 feet clearance around structures. It is no longer 30 feel clearance, this has been increased to 100 feet.  BEWARE: There have been more thefts in the Crest Harbison Canyon area. Trucks have been seen leaving sites in the early mornings-loaded with supplies. Mail boxes are being robbed!
